Langevin Financial Planning
                      Achieve Your Dreams

PAUL LANGEVIN – President/CEO
Paul doesn't think of himself as just a financial planner. He prefers to think of himself as a husband, father, neighbor, friend, a so-so golfer, and one who is fortunate enough to  have the opportunity to help others achieve their dreams. Paul is pretty much like everyone else, but what sets him apart is his passion for financial planning and his desire to use it to help others.
Paul, born in 1942, was an Information Technology Director, and has over 35 years of professional experience in Fortune 500 companies. He has Bachelor of Arts and Master of Science degrees in mathematics from Northeastern University. He is working toward Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) certification and has completed the education and exam requirements.  He was a registered Investment advisor in Massachusetts and Florida, and specializes in assisting retirees and pre-retirees to plan for a comfortable and predictable financial future.
Since I am no longer a licensed Investment Advisor, I can not and will not accept payment for any assistance that I may provide. If I can help you and it is quick and easy for me, I will. If I have to do a lot of work, you will need to be referred to me by a non-profit organization.

OUR FIRM provides comprehensive financial planning services to investors who want to attain financial security.  Our recommendations are based on your specific needs. We help you to identify your goals and set a course to reach them.  We remain at your side as you continue to respond to different market conditions and changing circumstances.
OUR MISSION is to help our clients establish reasonable financial goals and then achieve them through objective planning and management of investment assets.  One of our main contributions to our clients is to help them reduce the complexity of their financial life, so they can better focus on family, friends and career.  We put our client’s interest first, and promise to act with confidentiality, integrity and excellence.
OUR CLIENTS share in the realization that by coordinating and managing today’s financial decisions they can achieve their goals for tomorrow.  They are individuals who expect excellence. Our clients usually want to be involved in the management of their financial affairs, but do not have the time to understand all aspects of financial planning. They are willing to seek and heed financial advice and are highly motivated to work with a professional advisor, not just a sales representative.
HOW WE OPERATE
A SERVICE ORIENTATION
Personal attention is the major focus of our company.  It starts with our first meeting when we identify your needs, objectives, and risk tolerance.  Before our second meeting, we collect comprehensive data and develop a proposal of the work we will perform at no cost to you. At our third meeting, we will present a detailed plan, which will include an investment schedule and portfolio design. Once we have agreed upon the plan to reach your goals, we will assist you in implementing the recommendations.  Annually, we will meet with you to assist in rebalancing your account to the original asset allocation. Our ongoing attention is to the achievement of your goals and to the composition and performance of your portfolio. Confidentiality is always strictly maintained.
FINANCIAL PLANNING PROCESS
We believe in the financial planning process.  This is the process of identifying goals, gathering and reviewing financial data, and designing and implementing a plan to help you reach your goals.  It is a lifelong process.  Once the plan is in place, it needs to be monitored, reviewed and updated to meet dynamic circumstances.
OBJECTIVES
Typical objectives include:
•  Establishing retirement income needs
•
Determining education funding needs
•
Improving cash flow management
•
Computing capital accumulation goals
•
Estate planning
•
Tax minimization
•
Charitable giving strategies
•
Insurance needs
•  A customized portfolio that will depend on cash flow needs, tax considerations, market conditions, and levels of risk that are comfortable for our client
INVESTMENT POLICY
We develop a target return and an investment plan that utilizes the principles of Modern Portfolio Theory.
We favor the use of index funds because they have lower expenses and yield better results than 78% of managed funds.  We allocate assets among the major classes of cash, stocks, bonds and real estate. Stock investments are made in domestic, foreign, large and small capitalization funds.  For domestic stocks, we invest for both growth and value.  Bond assets are purchased for short, intermediate and long-term durations.  We use real estate investment trust (REIT) funds for the real estate allocation.

The objective of the allocation process is to maximize portfolio return, given a client's risk profile, by spreading risk across the major asset classes, and to include asset classes whose values rise and fall independently of each other.
TAX SENSITIVITY
Taxes represent a significant consideration for every long-term investor.  By minimizing income taxes, investors retain more wealth to help meet their goals.  We exercise care in the appropriate placement of investments within taxable and tax-deferred accounts. However, tax considerations do not dominate our portfolio management process.
FINANCIAL PLANNING FEES
Since I am no longer a licensed Investment Advisor, I can not and will not accept payment for any assistance that I may provide. I help family, friends, and people recommended to me by charitable organizations.
